Tierra del Fuego National Park

At 12 km from the city is located the National Park. This park has 68,909 hectares and is the only one in Argentina that combines marine, forest and mountain environments, shaping the marine coast, lakes, valleys, extensive peat bogs and magnificent forests inhabited by lengas, guindos and ñires.

At the park you can do different activities such as trekking, bike rides, boating, fishing and bird watching. You can also visit the Alakush Visitor Center, get on the End of the World Train and get to know Lapataia, Acigami Lake and Zaratiegui Bay.

Beagle Channel

Also known as Onashaga in the Yamana language, which means channel of hunters or canal de los onas, the channel contains great biodiversity, history and amazing landscapes. Sailing through the Beagle is an unmissable experience on your trip to Ushuaia.

In different types of boats such as catamarans, sailboats or yachts and with several options of tours you will be able to admire the city and its surroundings from another perspective.

Fagnano and Escondido lakes

Fagnano lake, or Khami in the Selknam language, has an area of 104 kilometers and it is divided by the imaginary line that separates Argentina from Chile so it is considered a binational lake.

The excursions that depart from the city of Ushuaia take you to know this lake and Escondido lake, closer to the city and smaller in extension. Is possible to visit by the classic excursion by bus or 4x4 adventure.

Valley of Tierra Mayor

On winter, this area is ideal for snow activities. There it's Cerro Castor, where you can practice skiing, snowboarding or ice skating. There are also options to explore the valley on cross country skis, with snowshoes or by dog sledding.

Summer is the time to discover this place by hiking or by bicycle the incomparable beauty of these mountains with their lagoons, peat bogs, streams and glaciers. It exists wide variety of trails with different difficulties depending on each person's experience.

Puerto Almanza and Harberton Ranch

These are two emerging destinations on the Beagle Channel that can be reached by taking national route 3 and then Provincial Route J, more than 75 kilometers from the city of Ushuaia.

Puerto Almanza is a small village located on the coast of the Beagle Channel, known for the development of artisanal fishing, mainly of king crab. A perfect place to try the local cuisine.

Harberton Ranch is one of the first permanent European settlements and belongs to the Bridges family, descendants of one of the founders of the Anglican Mission. The ranch is a place to enjoy the history, science and gastronomy of the area.

Is the southernmost alpine ski resort in the world and has an extensive skiable area, around 30 kilometers, about 34 slopes and the longest ski season in South America. It is located in the Tierra Mayor Valley, 26 kilometers from the city of Ushuaia.

Also in the Tierra Mayor Valley are a great variety of winter centers to practice cross-country skiing, walks with skis, snowmobile tours, dog sled rides and other activities.
